Matters Arising
Commemorative Plaque for the Opening of the Community Rooms – The person who supplied the new notice board for the church is unable to do the plaque so a new supplier will have to be found.
DVD for the Welcome Pack – Fr Reg to look over the DVD and the welcome pack to be discussed at the next meeting.
Name for the small meeting room – agreed not to call it “The Fr John Deehan Room” – it was felt Fr John would not want this.
After-school club in the Community Rooms – Fiona will liaise with the school and others to draw up a proposal which can be put to the Finance Committee and the IPPC.
Talk by Deacon Duncan McPherson – Duncan has agreed to make a presentation in the New Year.

Permanent Parish Pastoral Council
Appeal for new members – It was agreed not to ask new members to join, but instead to disband the IPPC and start afresh with a new PPC following the day of reflection on 9th February. (Marie did find a new volunteer!)
A day to reflect – Saturday 9th February from 10am to 2pm.Bring your own lunch (or to share).
Commissioning of the Permanent PPC – at Pentecost 2008 – 11th May

Book of the month
Launch at the beginning of Lent – early February. Timothy Radcliffe, Henri Nouwen, Basil Hume are suitable authors.

Lunch for older (75+) members of the parish – Friday 14th December
37 parishioners were invited – 14 will be attending. The organisation is in hand.

Newsletter – Diane mentioned that frequently there were no newsletters available. Fr Reg took note and also mentioned that the “Sunday Plus” page of the newsletter would be phased out.
Follow-up to “Open The Doors” – the diocese is planning an “outreach event” to follow up “Open The Doors” for later in 2008.
“Refreshing” the church – Fr Reg mentioned plans to “refresh” the Lady chapel or the Sacred Heart chapel.
Access to the church outside Mass times – Fr Reg mentioned plans to provide a secure area for prayer for those times when the church is not open for Mass.
Saint Vincent de Paul Society(SVP) – should we consider an SVP society in the parish? We should consider inviting an SVP person to talk to interested parishioners. Nancie does know an SVP person who she could invite

Tuesday 18th December “TURN TO ME”- Over the last two weeks, we have been talking about the Sacrament of Confession. Let us use this special time of Advent and “Put Things in Order” before the great feast of Christmas.At 7.30pm this Tuesday evening, please try your best to come and join us here in the church in the Service of Reconciliation.Hope to see you all!
Christmas Timetable- At back of the church, please take one home.
Celebration of Christmas Carols- All are welcome today at 4.00pm at St. Marks Church of England Parish to join in a celebration of Christmas Carols.There will be mulled wine and mince pie for you to enjoy after the celebration.
Christmas Music- If youwould like to join in over Christmas, please make contact with the music group.
Christmas Gift of a Mass- please see Fr. Reg if you would like a mass said for your family or friends.
First Holy Communion 2008 -This will be held on Sunday 8th June.Application forms will be made available after Christmas.There will be First Holy Communion classes after Sunday 9.30 mass only.
Prayer Group– we will meet on Tuesday after the Service of Reconciliation for about an hour. There will be no meeting on the following Tuesday (Christmas Day) but we will meet again on Tuesday, 1 January, from 8-9pm in the Parish Community Rooms. Everyone is welcome, even only part of the meeting.
Sunday Driver Needed- If anyone can offer housebound parishioners a lift to Sunday 11.15am mass, please see Fr.Reg.
Second Collection- for the next three weeks we will be organising a second collection to cover the cost of the church flowers for Christmas.Should anyone wish to help with the flowers, please contact Fr.Reg.
